Our Story

Every melody, mural, and dance holds the spirit of Jharkhand’s tribal heritage.

Established in 1997, Kalamandir is a community-led non- profit organization transforming livelihoods in Jharkhand’s Kolhan region by rooting economic development in indigenous culture and natural resources. Operating with a philosophy of empowerment, Kalamandir strengthens ‘Gram Sabha’ institutions and traditional leadership systems, ensuring tribal communities retain ownership of their development.

Through research, skill development, micro-enterprise creation, and capacity building, we empower communities to shape a future full of pride, dignity, and sustainable growth.
